I have a 98 (E0) SVT Contour. I have done regular maintenance throughtout my ownership. I am at about 123,000 miles right now and just wonder what maintenance I should do now. Obviously the car is getting a fair bit of mileage and I just want to keep everything running smoothly. I am not experiencing any problems, I have pretty much changed anything to this point that needs to be changed such as plugs etc but just wonder if you have any other suggestions. Thanks,

Wow, 123K on a 98 IS a lot of driving! Where do you work, Florida?

A full brake fluid flush should be done if it hasn't been done already. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, degrading it's performance. Other than fluids, filters, plugs, and wires, I think a serp belt and waterpump would be good preventive replacements.

Well I do drive about 100 miles round trip to work every day so that is why it is so high. I figure I have one of the highest mileage SVT's. I do have ot do the brake fluid. I have done it once already but need to do it again, the track will do that. I have already done waterpump, and serpentine belt done already together with an idler arm pulley. What about the injectors and things like that. I have done them but not recently. I was thinking of doing them too.

Also, any idea on how long a clutch will last? I am starting to wonder about that one now too.

I wonder the same about my clutch, at 116k on a 98.5 SE. Can't live forever...and how much does a dealer typically charge to replace a clutch?
