Hey everyone- last night my car (99 SE Sport MTX) was towed because I parked in a lot that I shouldn't have. Never used to be a sign there, but oh well. $105 down the crapper.

My problem/question is: the car was parked with the E-brake pulled and the trans in first. I don't even know how they moved it- it must have been an ugly sight. There is no obvious external damage. What kind of damage could there be that isn't visable to me? If they f-ed up my car, they'll pay.

Thanks.

If they towed it by the rear wheels; the tranny is likely toast (Very rare for them to even think this)
If they towed it by the front wheels, the rear brakes are shot. (flat spotted tires?)

This too is unlikely.

Most likely they dragged it onto a flatbed. Ask at the towing company. (get it in writing too!)

I had a car towed from an apartment parking lot. I knew that I was parked in a tow away zone but was visiting my sister-in-law in a college town and it was after the semester was over and there were lots of spaces. It was a rear wheel drive and I parked it in gear, with the parking break on, and the front wheels turned hard over. Looking for some extra bucks(I was quite ticked off at this) they towed me anyway. I asked him how they towed me and the guy said the put one set of wheels on a carraige and towed it from the other side and that cost me extra. That just got me hotter and I told him he was a rip off. It was either pay the man or not get my car.
