I have read several discussions about engines running hotter than expected. I live in southern California. The temperature gauge on my 95 Mystique almost leaves the normal zone on days when itâ??s over 100 degrees. On cold days it registers slightly in to the normal zone. The needle on my Explorer and Saturn barely move when itâ??s 108 degrees. I know itâ??s not the WP or thermostat since I recently replaced them. The electric fan is on continuously when it's hot. Is it possible the hood liner is causing heat retention. Is it a good idea to remove it?

hhmmmmm....most problems I've seen have been with a water pump not pumping, a thermostat not opening, or a fan not kicking on...
What's the condition of the radiator? Are you getting good coolant flow through it? Have you checked for dirt clogging the cooling fins? Just ideas to think about.
