Last weekend I finaly got my svt UIM, LIM, TB, and MAF. So I brought it back to Ames from Des Moines and loved everything about it, no problems, but saturday night after performing the TH fix the cel lights. got out reset the computer, no problems again, about 3 Hrs later it comes on again so I take the fix out and drill the hole a little larger, no problems again. Last night I go to work and while on a delivery the cel comes on again, so I take out the fix altogether and reset the computer again, 2 Hrs later it comes on again. So I'm wondering is the MAF bad or am I looking at another problem?

Get the code scanned. That will point you in the right direction; otherwise you and everyone else will just be guessing.

Autozone scans for free.

Does anyone else have free code scanning, nearest autozone is down in Des Moines. There is an advanced auto and an O'rileys here in town.

Did the TH fix your mossing Ryan? How's the car running other than the CEL? I wonder if maybe one of the parts we swapped from Kevins car is indeed bad. I remember you telling me he had a perpetual CEL on his car. I wouldn't necessarily think it is the MAF, but could something else. I'm pretty sure I checked to make sure all the fittings were tight running off the accordian tube abd that mass of plastic vaccum hose off the backside of the UIM, but you might want to double check those make sure it's not a vaccum leak causing your probs. That would be my first thing to check.

Moosing isn't a problem anymore and the car is running fine other than the cel, the only problem is crappy gas milage and exhaust smells like the car is running rich. Checked most of the vaccum lines and stuff, they were fine. Kevin's perpetual CEL is what led me to believe that it maybe the MAF, the plan is once I get homework done tonight, I'll try and get it scanned at Advanced Auto.

Why not try swapping your original maf back in and doing a reset to see if it comes back? If not, then you know it is the MAF.

I had thought about that but my old MAF is at Ricks place. I thought I'd try some other things first. I still haven't gotten to autozone so maybe in the next few days i'll have a better idea.
Thanks for the help though.
