Stupid body shop guys scratced the heck out of both of my side mirrors. They are tellng me that to fix it they have to replace the whole housing and that it's too expensive. They won't fix it. I am going to talk with the manager tomorrow about all this but does anyone know if they can just replace the mirror part? Otherwise I am going suggest that they replace it or I'm sending my lawyer after them. I saw in my search that the mirrors new only cost about 117 so a coulple of hundred bucks off of the 3600 dollarjob they did shouldn't be that bad. mad

Send the lawyer!!! Nothing iritates me more than when repair shops wont pay to fix there own mess ups. If you did not not have the car in there for the mirrors and they messed them up it is there problem. They are fully responsible for your property while it is at there shop. I hope you take that damn shop from them good luck. mad

If they refuse to replace the mirror, you'll probably be hard-pressed to even see the manager/owner. If you can't see him, send a registered letter that only he can sign for. They are liable for replacement of stuff that they broke. At least they would be in most states that I know of. They can lose a lot of business from this incident.

No need for a laywer in small claims court.

I don't even think some states allow them in Small Claims.

Good luck.

Well, I talked with the body shop manager this morning. He didn't even know about the mirrors! He seemed rather upset about it when I told him and he told me it woudl get "looked at" this afternoon when the glass repair people come in to look at the rest of the damage they've done.
