Just return that intake and make a "poor man's kkm" Take out your stock airbox and cut the bottom and sides out enough so that your airfilter still covers the intake. Some people also just drill a lot of holes in theirs. I cut out the bottom and sides and it definately give a nice little improvement if nothing else in sound of the engine. If you want to get an idea of what it will sound like, take out your airfilter and start the car and hit the gas, you will hear the improvement. You can also switch to a K&N filter as well.

Stalling open air filter.... This is exactly what I am experiencing. I no longer think its a problem with the air intake, but when its on (the open air intake) it runs richer than with the stock air box, hence giving me the stalling problem. If you want to understand my problem read this URL I have at the top!

I finally got her into the dealership and the tech tells me that my MAF is bad. They want $390 for a new MAF, reprogram PCM, and installation. I know that for a little of 200$ I can get a 75mm MAF and have it programmed for much cheaper. What exactly is my PCM and what does it do? I still have my BAT intake and would love to re-install it, but now I am worried about more problems with the damn thing...

PCM is for Powertrain Control Module. It's basically the computer that monitors your engine and controls all the ignition, ATX shift points and other stuff.
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) just measures enses how much air is entering the engine through the intake for the PCM. You could probably get a stock MAF at a junk yard for $50. (No reprogramming or flashing needed!) Before buying a new one, you might want to clean the little sensor wires in the tube with a spray of electonic parts cleaner. (Radio Shack)

I have a stock MAF sensor for the 2.5L. I just installed the Pro Flow and like it very much.

I would go with the suggestion of cleaning the MAF sensor wire. If that doesn't work see if you can find somebody with the same car borrow there MAF for an hour and see if it fixes it then go buy a used one if it does. Your new air filter was probably a little to oily from the factory and got it dirty. You could go buy the K&N cleaning kit and clean the air filter then re oil it your self. There should be no need to reprogram your PCM other than what you did by resetting it. I wouldn't worry so much about it idling at 500. My wifes car has done that since I did the Mousing fix over a year ago with no ill effects. Your new pipe probably is doing the same thing the cap with the hole does by reducing the amount of air it can suck in through IAC. Good luck and don't throw your money away at the dealer.

I just installed the 75MM W/ Bat intake pipe. The install works fine. The 75MM is long a ton longer then the stock MAF.
