Okay, I give up. I have to ask a stupid question.

How do I undo that little buckle on the odd rear seat belt that attaches to the top of the rear deck of my 1999 Mystique LS?

The buckle is different than the other seat belt buckles in the car -- does not appear to have any kind of release button on it.

Of course, it's difficult to fold down the rear seatback on the driver's side when this odd belt remains fastened.

I don't have an owner's manual for this car. And by a stroke of fate, the owner's manual PDF file from the Owner Connection website is screwed up in the very section that addresses the seat belts.

Would appreciate the usual excellent advice from you guys -- thanks!

PS: can anyone email me an uncorrupted owners manual PDF file for the 1999 Mystique LS?

There should be a tiny hole in what you would expect to be a buckle. Use a streightened out paper clip in the hole to depress the release mechanism and it should unbuckle.

You should be able to download the owner's manual from the Ford web site.
