Hello all,

I installed a KKM intake and was getting a really strange, higher picted noise. I did some searches, and found that the "throttle hang" fix would probably fix it. So I go to do the fix, but the picture in the FAQ is different than my engine looks, so I don't know where it goes! Can you tell me what number it is? I'm guessing 4, but I want to know for sure. Thanks! I appreciate the help!

I'm not sure if the throttle hang fix will cure a sound like that. You aren't thinking of the 'moosing' problem, are you?

As for where to put the cap, I'm not sure! Your engine is laid out differently than mine. I've got a 98.5 SVT, and have different hose locations.

For me, my '#5' connects directly with '#1'. My cap is at your '#1' location.

Good luck!

Yeah, #5 connects to #1 in the picture in the FAQ too.

The reason I think it will cure the sound is because other people who have installed KKM's and have had this sound have been cured. I think. I could be wrong.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks Alex!!!! I put it in 5, and it completely cured my noise probelm. Plus, now my throttle dips faster, making it easier to shift faster! All for $0.18! This board rules!

Eric,

TSB #97-22-3 will replace that resonator with a much SIMPLER hose that goes straight from #1 to #5.

The part number for the hose is F8RZ-9H308-AA.

Do you think this would be worthwhile if the TH fix fixed my problem? What is the cost and benefit? That hose does look overly complicated...

You do not have to replace the IAC valve, if it works ok.
I had the moosing fixed with another TSB that replaced the IAC, the main intake hose, and the MAF.
The Resonator should have been eliminated when the Intake Hose was replaced.

My hose setup once looked like yours. Even after the TH fix, there was still some moaning occasionally. The new hose fixed it. I didn't replace the IAC.
