Just changed the thermostat and it didn't help. The gauge stays at LOW.

So I guess my next step is to look at the temperature SENDER or SENSOR, right?

Is there any easy way of diagnosing which one of the two is faulty?

Guess I'll have to drain the damn coolant again now... aaargh.

Same thing just happened to my 96 GL. Haven't checked it out yet... I'm curious what you will find.

Changed the coolant temperature gauge sender today and that turned out to be it! $17 bucks for a new one.

Its a bitch to get to though, I had to disconnect the entire thermostat housing...

Hello,

I am having the same problem. I have changed the thermostat, which got the heater working again. The temperature gauge is still not working though. I plan replacing the coolant temperature gauge but need assistance in finding where it is located.

Thanks!!

location depends on engine: v6 points to driver's side of car just behind wp hoses, I4 under thermostat housing (on newer models).
