I am having a problem and I think it may be the automatic transmission.

Between about 38 and 45 MPH my car seems to shimmy back and forth. When I say shimmy I mean the car seems to sort of hop forward and backward a little bit. Almost like a gear is slipping or something like that. If I have a bottled water sitting in the holder, I can see the liquid sloshing forward and backward.

It seems to be okay at other speeds. Any ideas?

It is a 99' SE Sport with 37,000 miles and ATX.

Luckily I have a Ford "Premium Care" ESP that should cover any problems that I may have.

My car does the same thing at about 50-55mph. It's almost like a hesitation. I haven't heard anything on how to fix it yet, though. Anyone else out there think they can help? I feel your pain, though - it's REALLY annoying.
