What do the Escape wheels look like, anyway? I looked at an Escape, but I didnt pay very close attention to the steering wheel, although I DID hate the way the key wanted to go in the shift lever hole, and not the key hole. If I remember right, they have perforated leather, and are only available in black, right?

hard to describe what they look like, better off to just take a peek into one in a parking lot someplace. The one I dri=ove had a black wheel and yes, perforated leather. i found the hand postion for driving to be more comfortable, that's why I'm interested, plus I think it just looks better.

Heh, I just remembered that I took a brochure when I looked at that Escape (they have a new Limited model now, heated seats, heated mirrors, body color everything, and a reverse sensing system ) and it looks like the new ones dont have perforated leather, but the wheel itself looks alot like the new Mondeo wheels.

A suggestion maybe. Get rid of anything in your profile but the Mystique. I have lots of cars, but post only my Tour. Cause that's all I wanna talk about. I believe that somehow your profile that includes your other car somehow grates on everyone, I know it does me. Leave your post, don't bash anyone, and just sign off with YOU and YOUR ConTique. Out of site, out of mind, know what I mean ? It's gotten to be such a sore subject that it automatically elicits a negative response. Lose it, and I'll bet you everyone here gets along a lot better. Unless it's your intention to stir the pot you'll take my advice. So we'll see eh ?

i agree man...i only have my svt in my sig...i don't care to list all of my vehicles..and most people's sig's are too long anyway...my sig would take up way too much space if i listed all my cars and their mods...although some people on here don't own tours anymore,so they list their cars of course...

but on topic..it seems to me that swapping for the escape wheel is more trouble than its worth imho...it looks ok,but not that much better for the trouble of swapping them...and personally i like the looks of my svt wheel just fine...

my key sometimes misses the key hole and goes in right above it... like under or over the rubber surrounding part

I would have to agree with Cool Blue on this one in the begining of this thread. The Cougar one looks much better. But I like the ones available on the aftermarket. Since my car doesn't have cruise control I don't care what the steering wheel looks like. Although, I have heard bad things about airbags,so I would rather not have one. Besides MOMO makes great steering wheels.

What is it about the airbag that you don't like ? Yes they can be dangerous for little people in car seats who shouldn't be in the front seat anyway, and they can be dangerous if you sit too close. But I tell ya what, if I ever go head on into someone/something I sure want that pillow of air there to keep the steering column from perforating my chest. Airbags have saved thousands of lives and will continue to as they are being installed in more and more locations in cars. Side impact bags, rollover protection bags, knee bags, I even saw a car maker that had a rear impact bag for the back seat passengers involved in a rear ender. I love momo wheels and some of the others too, but not enough to risk my life to have one.
