I have just cured the following problem. I have a 98 Mystique SE V6 with a very noticable rattle coming from the rear of the car when I drive over a rough patch of road.It sounds exactly like something is loose in the trunk but nothing is loose. This has been bugging me for almost a year now and finally after reviewing numerous posts I finally did something about it.

I took it to my Ford Dealer and asked them to replace the sway bar links. They examined the car, agreed on the cause and replaced the links. For now atleast every bit of the noise is completely gone, what a ride! It's like new again! Thanks to all of you for your excellent suggestions in past posts!
