Recently tried and failed to install a rear set of braided stainless steel brake lines purchased from BAT. The stock clips that are used to hold the brake lines to fenderwell brackets are too thin for the grooves of the fittings supplied by BAT. In a post on the old forum I believe one person said he used two clips per side to attach the lines to the brackets. Have learned Ford no longer makes the clips for Contours or Cougars. The brake line clips for a Focus are a completely different plastic design. Any thoughts or solutions? I'd search the old forums again if they were available. Are the old forums up again yet? I can't find them if they are. Any help would be appreciated.

My clips worked fine. Just installed this last weekend. I remember the rear clips didnt' want to clip on very easily, but a rubber mallet persuaded them on there BTW, I love the braided lines; braking is so much more predictable. Nice progressive pedal feel.

There are variable spacer sizes available on the market to assist in installing the new lines. That is what was used on my SVT when the SS lines were installed.
