I was looking through my old sport compact car mags and I happen to find a article on the contour SVT, and I was shocked to learn that the SVT is the first and only production car to be Extrude Honed!! How come I have never heard this before?(go easy on me, I really did not know)

Also, the intake ports in the cylinder head are Extrude Honed. How about that!

Ryan, don't go starting any rumors or I'll have 30 emails in the morning from people wanting these special *SVT* cams in their engines...

Dan,
I think you will find only one of the two intake ports on the head extrude honed, that is, the primary one with the injector, they may have done both on the 'late' returnless SVT's with the 10.25:1 CR,I'll pull an intake off a new SVT motor in the shop & check...but I know for sure on the pre returnless its only one port...

Terry, I just had my (1999SVT) intakes off 2 weeks ago and both primary and secondaries are Honed. 1998s supposedly only had secondaries Honed..that + the 34mm LIM in 99 is where the extra 5HP/4lb/ft came from (they say).

Oh, and I have the return system. That theory Ive read about only the returnless using 34mm LIM is wrong, at least on SVTs.
