I had the blower switch recall done, now I have only defrost.
The service mgr. said that the blend door is bad and won't fix it, even though it worked fine when I took it in, He said I would have to PAY for the repair myself.

Does anyone know how this repair is done and wether or not they removed the glovebox to do it?

Thanks in advance! Mike

That isn't a blend door problem. Its a problem with the main vacuum supply line coming from the engine. Defrost is default so that if the vacuum supply is cut off, the window will not fog up. If it worked fine before the blower switch recall was done, then something happened while fixing it, and the dealer should take responsibility for it.

It is not necessary to remove the glovebox to perform this repair. The blower resistor and connector are easily accessible from under the dash without going through the glovebox. If it was the switch and connector in the control panel that were replaced, chances are good that the vacuum control lines were not hooked back up to the climate control panel, which would be the dealer's fault. Keep arguing with them until they fix it.

hey this is a problem of a sloppy mechanic who performed your recall...(usually the lower end guys on our cars).under the drivers side dash to the right of the steering wheel there is a unit that controls the heat/ac position via a vacuum line...there is a rod connected to a switch that is activated by vacuum. the rod will pop off if bumbed or kicked( the recall is done on that side) tell the dealer to shove it and then fix it with him watching and tell him he was trying to rip you off) hopefully i've explained this fix good enough as i have done it myself but just worked 13 hours and can't see straight..lol

Take it back to them and have them fix it. There are 4 seperate recalls on the heater\A/C blower. It replaces everything in the line on them. If it was working before they had it then it's their fault.
