Hi all...I'm new to the world of mechanics and I want to know as much as I can about my beauty of a car.

Here's the problem...when I'm sitting at lights the car will rev slightly (maybe 100-200 rpm increase) and want to lunge. My question is whether you guys think it's a clogged fuel injector or a clogged fuel filter? I put a can of Sea-Foam Cleanser in the tank today at lunch to see if it will help the problem assuming it's a fuel injector.

If not, how difficult is it to replace a fuel filter?

Thanks! Any suggestions would be great!!

I suggest that you clean the throttle body. You should be able to find a lot about this as well as how to change the fuel filter with the search function.

The fuel filter is a good place to start. The filter is at the front of the passenger side rear wheel. If you look up under the front of that wheel you can see the fuel filter up under there. You can replace it easy. The clips for it come with the new filter, (get the Motocraft) the clips just slip out with a thin screwdriver pull. Make sure you have some paper towels to catch the fuel. (if you do it 24 hours or so since driving the fuel pressure will be very low. also unscrew the gas cap) and you will not have to release the pressure in the fuel line. Make sure the new filter is in the correct direction, and the new clips... check for leaks with the ignition on to run the fuel pump.... done. $18 or so to eliminate a possible cause of your problem.
