OK, I haven't been checking the board since I bought my car, but I read a lot before I bought. I want to install fog lights in my '96 Contour. I swear I read a Howto or at least some posts, but now I can't find them anywhere, and I did search! I found the Howto on how to get them to come on with the parking lights. However, I am looking more for how difficult it will be and what I need to buy. Does Ford sell a kit?

Thanks in advance for any help...

I would look at places like Car-part.com or fordpartsonline.com
and get the brackets and the light assemblies. I was quoted approx. 175 from my local dealer just for the parts. You can install yourself. Look under your front bumper and off to the side of where the lights go should be a wire clip. That's what you use. Then you can either get the fog-light switch from the above mentioned sites or a local yard.
Another option would be to just wire a relay to run them with the parking lights. That would be my choice.

The Dealership will rape you on price. If you don't have OEM, i would recommend an aftermarket of your choice and follow the directions provided. If you know what your doing, wire them into the light switch. Ford used the same switch if you had OEM fog lights or not. I used the howto to wire my OEM fog lights to turn with the parking lights. That howto can show you where you could wire in aftermarkets.(Use an in-line fuse!!)

Good Ole Bill Jenkins, $186.00 shipped to my door, all wiring, relays, harnesses, brackets, and even a brand new set of Ford bulbs included. It even comes with an instruction sheet. That was at his old place, but I'm sure the price isn't much different than that now.

Here is your HOW-TO For a install of the Piaa 510's

Now take into consideration that the how-to is for a SVT,
But if you could somehow fit these fogs in there they are the best and brightest out there IMO, Alot of people who have these will agree with me when i say you DO NOT NEED your headlights when the Piaa 510's are on.

They have a STOCK appearance

You can buy the bulbs from ebay, If you're looking for the bluish look I know that Cuzo makes bulbs for the headlights, bright lights, and fog lights, and from what I hear they match pretty good. I need a good set of fog lights before I try though. One day I'll go find some used ones at the junkyard.

I drove from dusk until almost 2am w/ my headlight covers on (Headlight covers = very little to no light output from headlights) coming back from the National meet in Dallas. Thats about 5-6 hours of highway driving, through dark no streetlight sections, with the 510's installed, not a problem.

I even managed to piss off a few truckers b/c they were aimed kind of high at first!

Watch the Group Buy section, last I cehcked SPMotorsports had them too.

I got mine at Lane Automotive @ SZ 02. Expect to pay about $160-170 if you can find them in a GB or close to $230 if you go through SP. Slim might know of a better place as I think he is usually responsible for setitng up the GBs when they happen.

I know his How-to rocks! It may look like nonsense until you actually have the brackets out and in front of you, but once you do, its smooth as silk!
