I was checking the local drag strip schedules today, and noticed Englishtown has an annual Ford event coming up. I figured it would be a good way to get the NY/NJ/East PA people together for some good car fun.

I don't have much info on it yet, but it is an all weekend event. 2 day swap meet, car show and racing. I'm especially interested in the "Real Street" racing on Saturday morning. Basically, there is something for everyone.

Just want to put the word out early and see if we can get a showing. I'll post any info I can get on the racing action. Maybe one of our more "aestheticly inclined" members can get some details on the car show.

Oh duh, I forgot to post a link.

We don't consider Englishtown anywhere near South Jersey.. Try Central Jersey. It's actually exit 8 off the NJ Turnpike. I'd be game if someone from my neck of the woods is going, since I don't own a Ford anymore.

You see, it's all relative. I am so far north, we consider Newark Airport to be South Jersey.

I always felt New Brunswick to be the Dividing Line. Or where Rt9 and RT1 split. Atlantic City is in the Deep South of NJ.

The North Jersey SCCA is hosting a North Jersey SVOTA autocross on Saturday the 19th at the Englishtown Drag Strip. Probably best to get there at or before 8am if you're intersted.

E-Town is a great place for Auto-X, but I personally thing the head honcho (owner of the cream 60's Vette) is an ass.

I drove up from Philly with 5 other cars to race and we all got stuck in traffic (an Explorer flipped over, imagine that). Anyways, we tried to make up for lost time and one car got caught by NJ Trooper doing 80.

Long story short, we showed up 10 minutes late when we should have been 30+ minutes early and that guy gave us such a hard time. Granted, I can understand if he was a little mad, but he was a dick to us all day long.

I'm gonna try to make it to the drag track, but I might have to work. I'll let you know the weekend before the event.
