Hey everyone this is a terrible way to make a first post but driving home from work and going over a set of railroad tracks my 98 svt sounded strange and will not shift gears. The clutch engages and disengages as normal but the shifter will not move into any other position but between 1-2 and there is no tension at all just flopps around. tryed moving it through the gate towards 3-4 or 5-R but stuck in the 1-2 channel. Any ideas? havent got a chance to get under her yet but looking for a place to start. she must be stuck in 2nd limpted her home not going over 45 and that was at 6k, didnt want to break anything else? The SHOTimes croud was great but from what i was reading this group of car buffs are even better. thanks

Check the TWO cables ontop of the transmission(under air intake tube)and make sure they are both connected to the levers,if they are its either 1)at the base of the shifter or 2)in the trans where you have a problem..PM with details after you check.Regards Terry Haines HMS Inc
