My car is at the dealer, unsteady idle and a CEL. They said part of the problem (from star test) is IMRC code. It is not covered under waranty. There is also a bad cat that they are replacing (again) but my question is: how many people have had teh IMRC go out? It is $350bucks, still operates but is popping a code. So what next, does it just stop working?

Pulling the CEL Bulb won't do you any good.
After you pull the bulb your car won't start.
The PCM won't work unless there is a bulb in the dash.

GOD forbid the bulb ever burns out !!

It is out of warranty but Ford just called and tehy are covering all but $130. I guess that is not bad for acar that has 73000 miles on it and they are willing to help out. Cat (not sure what one yet) is being replaced 8-80K emissions warranty. Still waiting to hear what else is getting covered. This is the last time I will be at the dealer with awarranty (it expires at 75K)...

Still want me to ship you 1-2 of the 'spares'....

Mine went bad around 15k miles. I broke down and let the dealer fix it. (the bastages only took like 5 weeks!)

I was quoted like $100 for the IMRC and you can easily replace it yourself. I hate the dealerships that much I thought about doing it myself!

Your IMRC should not affect idle (unless it's stuck open - normal cause of that is built up gunk - another self serviceable problem)
What CEL code do you have?

Car is stuck at the dealer for the weekend. They are waiting on cats so it will be Monday till she is picked up.....damn rental car again.
