Have a '98 Mercury Mystique LS with 78k miles on it.
The other day while driving, the battery icon came on, blinking, fading in and out, and continued intermittently even after turning off fans, lights and stereo. When I got home, the power windows were slow to close. Tried to start it up the next day, no luck, made sort of a thudding/buzzing sound, wipers worked, but the remote door locks were slow to open too. Replaced the battery last January. Kinda bums me out, husband gave me the car last April, and since then, the rear lamp assembly gasket failed (they wanted $400 for a new assembly) I sealed it with silicone, A/C compressor went (Wanted $700 for that) Washer wiper motor went (had that fixed for $150), now the right channel of the stereo has crapped out. Been a bunch of recalls on the car. Feel like I was better off with a crappy old Mopar.
So I'm stuck till I can arrange to have it towed to a good garage. Not a Happy Camper (Car is really nice to drive, except for the problems) Does anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance
