Well people I still have not been able to get my duratec in my 95 contour to start. Like I said before, the engine swap went fine except for the upper and lower intakes had to be swapped out because of the fuel lines hooking up a little differently on the 98 engine as well the intake runner actuating rod on the 98 has a control box of some sort mounted to the outer valve pan cover by swapping out these my wiring harness also came with the intake ,this was great because now I can plug it right back into my PCM however, I still needed to swap a few sensors to accomadate my wiring harness, there done not a big deal.
My old engine had overheated of course and jumped its timing then there was a big bang valves tried to go through the pistons when i got the old engine home I jumped her to see if she would turn over and to my amazement it did but with no spark.
I have now installed my new engine but the no spark problem has followed as well. The new engine came with a coil pack and I have since replaced the ignition module and the PCM the car rolls over good and the fuel pump has pressure to the rail.The crankshaft and camshaft sensors both test out good. the PCM has power to it, so I know my relay 11 is good. When I plug in the ford scan tool the only code that I get is the mass sensor but this i would not think should stop spark. This is the last time I will ask for help , the @##@#@@# things going to the dealer soon. If anyone has a good electrical drawing of the ignition system for the 2.5 duratec I would greatly appreciate if they could scan it and email it to me at kboom36@yahoo.com.

Would the fact that the '98 required the PATS ignition key have any bearing on your problem.
A recent engine swap post seemed to have a similar problem and a faulty wiring harness was the culprit.

I don,t know what you mean by pats but like I said I changed the engine wiring harness to my old one and some sensors that did not match up so now the engine is the same as what came out of it or so the pcm thinks. Why would the engine think it is using the pat system,is there some sensor I should change?

He means if you replaced your pcm, you'll need to get blank PATS keys and program them to your new PCM, otherwise your car won't start. I'm suessing you'll need a new cylinder for the steering column and new door/trunk locks if you don't have power locks that'll work with keyless entry.

PATS = Passive Anti-Theft System
Must have correct key to start engine.

Ok, on re-reading your posts it seems you installed '98 engine minus electrically operated IMRC, keeping instead the old vacuum operated one along with old PCM, ignition module and wiring harness. PATS should not be a problem.

I can only suggest you double-check wiring integrity and connections since some harnesses were plagued with faulty insulation and your's has now been handled a couple of times. Also the ignition module could also be a likely suspect.

Suggest you get Haynes manual re wiring diagram, although they are a bit of a mish-mash of european cars info which is very confusing.

Good Luck.

Yes,I would believe that a problem exist in the wiring harness and I probably should have mentioned that the ignition module was the first thing that was replaced and as well I did not know that "pat" stood for passive anti theft however I do recall reading about the anti theft system somewhere I just didn't know the acronym for it.Thanks for your help ,I will try to trace out the harness as soon as I can track down a decent schematic, the ones in the hanes manual are to vague.

Yes, if you can find the time today I would really like to have those schematics from your manual the ones in the hanes manual deal with several different years and are are pretty vague.
