I just bought a 98 Contour LX with the 2.5 liter Duratech and my only complaint so far is that at the top of the headlight lenses, there is a foggy look to them.. but it feels like there's some kind of residue on the outside of the lense rather than it all being on the inside. Does anyone know if there is a product available to clean this or the inside? Just looking for some options other than shelling out 300 bucks for new lenses. Thanks.

Someone makes an automotive grade plastic polish. My friend used it to polish my foggy turn signals on my Camaro and they came out fantastic. I need to find it so I can do my dad's Taurus. His headlights are in sad shape.

What I've used in the past , with lots of sucess , is rubbing compound . Yup , the kind you use to polish out dull paint . Use a mild compound to polish out the foggy look , then use a plastic polish to keep it looking nice .

I had my driver's side lense replaced (under warranty) and now the pass. side lense is doing the same thing (out of warranty, so I'll wait to it gets pretty bad before buying a new one). The Ford dealer said that some kind of "tint" was peeling off. I tried everything to get rid of it, but only replacing the lense did the job.
