I finally made it to Boston. I'm staying on the air froce base untill I find an apartment. Man is this different from Texas. I made the mistake of driving all the way from bedford to downtown on city streets. I will never do that again.
The trip up here was awesome. I drove the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. They told me at the beginning I would average 35mph. hahaha I averaged 56 mph for the entire pkwy. Fun fun fun.
Anyways, let me know when you guys are gonna get together. I don't know anyone here yet so it's been pretty boring so far. Red line green line orange look at all the buildings. I miss Texas

that's awesome! I'm glad you made it ok! Those T lines can look confusing - but they're not. study the t-line map for about 1 hour and you'll be an expert. i've never been to Texas before - but Boston is like no other.....going through a lot of rennovation right now. Enjoy and keep an eye out on this forum for the next meet! I personally can't wait until the next Wachusett Mt. AppleFest meet somewhere in October!!!

I've never been on the T-line, but I've heard stories. Montreal's Metro-lines are apparently much better and faster, according to my friends. John you're going to have to get used to Boston traffic, if you're going to live in the area. Even being a pedestrian is an adventure! Hugo - "going through" renovation?? How many years has it been? The Big Dig is practically a Boston historical landmark now. j/k You can't wait for the Wachusett meet because that's when I'm finally going to show up, right?

Hey- I have a friend that works there, too- I just remembered that! Small world! He just bought a condo in Merrimack (was living in Nashua before that). I can't believe all of the connections around this place!

Yeah I'm an aquisitions LT on base. I got medically dq'd from pilot training so I'm not exactly excited to be here. I'm just in the VOQ untill I get an apt. That's what I'll work on this weekend. I'm driving a black 2000 SVT around town so honk if you see me. I'm definately down for meeting some of you guys. I need some drinkin' buddies so just let me know.

WELCOME!!! if you need any helps getting around the City, lemme know. I'd be willing to meet up with ya for a pint or some such if you have the time.
{rant on}the T is definitely not confusing on paper, but once you see how they operate the MassTransit in this state, you'll understand why there is so much autmotive traffic. Boston has one of the worst public transportation systems of major cities in the world, IMO. albeit, it is also one of the busiest. NY, Montreal, London, Toronto, Chicago all have more accessible and more efficient MassTransit systems. {/rant off}
anyhoo, gimme a holler if you feel a hankerin' for some beer.
