Anyone here know of really bright Krypton or Xenon lights for a 97 Contour GL? Is there Xenon lights that don't appear blue(I don't like to look like I have HID when I don't). How much and where. Or is it legal to put a high beam bulb in the low beam socket and buy another high beam bulb and but it the high beam socket?

Also, (i have the plastic lenses) is there a way to rub off the fog or oxides on it? I tried body compound on the outside of them and it made it look better and clearer, but what about the inside? Will Xenon or Krypton melt my lens?

Thanks

I am running Sylvania Cool Blue 9005s in my low beams right now. Sitting in the high beam spot is a set of 100w bulbs! Its nice. I didn't see much of a difference between the normal low beams and the 9005 high beams in the low spot.

Anyway, you can clean up the lamps by heading to the local paint shop and picking up some extremely high grit sandpaper (I used 1200) and some 3M plastic polish. Sand the lamps until you have removed all of yellowing. The lamps will have a very dull finish on them by the time you are done. When you are done sanding and the lamps have dried, take the plastic polish and a buffer and buff them up to shiny! Doesn't take terribly long, though I would reccomend taking the lamps off of the car to do it. That way you won't run any risk of sanding the bumper cover, fenders, or the hood.

Ooh! I wasn't paying attention to the thread. You use water to keep the sandpaper clean as your sanding. ie. wetsanding. They would be wet so you would need to wait till the water is dried until you could polish them. If you use sandpaper that is that high in grit without the water it will gum up with the dust really quickly.
