I plan on starting up again around the 1st of May. It's going to take about 9 days for my entire move. Then I want to take a couple of weeks off, unpack, see some stuff, play some golf, and etc...
Hope to see some of you guys some to Vegas so I can hook up and show you around. I know Boston was not the #1 destination on most of your vacation lists.
Take care.

Bill, hope your move goes smoothly. I spent a week in Boston a couple years ago for business and since most of my family is back there on the Cape, I enjoy that town very much. You can walk all over Boston (in a day!) , something you can't do here in L.A. in a week, and the rapid transit Boston has makes ours look like a joke. I'd move there if it wasn't so expensive. Anyway, Las Vegas is much closer and maybe some of us in the California region can make a road trip to your new digs sometime. Also, if it ever gets determined that the wheel width and backspacing of the tuner wheels will allow them to fit a Contour, I'm definitely interested in either the 5 or 10 spoke version. Karl

Warning: The Cougar Actuator(1S8Z-7210-AC) doesn't fit the Contour.
I've just received my order for the Cougar shift knob and silver reverse lockout (actuator). The shift knob's fine but the actuator doesn't fit properly on the Contour's shift rod (or whatever it's called): it's about 1/2 inch too short, so when installed the lockout ring doesn't reach up to the shift knob. (I have a 98 Contour).
So you'll either have to modify the Actuator or cut and retread the actual shift rod. Not a biggy in any case, but just wanted to let you know it's not a simple parts swap.

That would be why. They changed the shifter in 98.5 models and up (Again just slightly in 00 models IIRC?) This is also why the B&M shifter is "said not to fit" the 98 models. Though that can be modified to work. What is the measurement on the Cougar piece? I'll go measure my 00 stock piece and compare it (since it happens to be in a box with the shifter )

[/QUOTE] You are mistaken My friend. The B&M is made to fit the 98 and up as said so right here on the box and on there web site.I have one on my 98 SVT and it fits perfect with no modification. They will not fit the 97 and below. On A side note B&Ms web site has a shifter for a 00- 1.8 Turbo focus.

I'm curious as to the price of the 10-spoke Ford rim. Looks very similar to the discontinued Team Loco 142.

What is the measurement on the Cougar piece? Oops, I *do* have an 98.5, but it's an early one, and still has some 98 items. Here are the measurement: Original: 5 11/16" Cougar: 5"
