Please, some feedback from those who have MSDS headers installed.
I just had my headers installed by a reputable preformance shop and had this happen as a by-product...the serpentine belt has cut into a coolant hose causing a leak.
Has anyone experienced this?
They are NOT the supercharger headers and are on a 99 SVT.
Before going back for a partial refund, your observations would be appreciated.

There is only one hose near the s/belt and it would have to be fitted way out of wack to be even close to the belt.No need to remove hose or belt to fit headers...what gives?

Maybe the shop cut the hose when they removed the serp belt?
Otherwise like Terry stated the 2 things are not really related in any way.

to be a little off topic -
How long does it take to insall headers on a V6 Contour? I am looking into either BNMotorsports or MSDS - but really, the determining factor is install price. What can I expect as far as hours labor at a dealership?
Thanks guys! Hugo

$60 US an hour??? That's huge. Is that from a Ford dealer or a speciality shop? Try finding someone that has done them before like a speed shop....I pay only $67 CDN for my labour.

Man when I went to get my headers installed it took me like 3 trys before anyone wanted to touch my svt. The shop i found quoted me 270 then taking 9 hours to do they finsish and say they are never touching a contour svt agian cause of loss of labor cost, there bad for quoting me.

Ford Dealership. The mechanic there is the only one I trust and the only one that has ever worked on either one of my Contours. I'm just too afraid to go elsewhere considering my experience with other mechanics with my older Berreta and Excel.... I'll ask around the ne-ceg forums.....

$60 (US) per hour is fairly cheap!
Most dealerships are $70-85 Most chains are $65-75 Most small shops/back yard mechs are $40-60
I did mine in under 4 hrs (air tools and gear wrenches), but would not quote that time to a customer...
The job is a moderate PITA & I ran into zero complications. (stuck bolts/studs/nuts/alternator/etc)
I would say 5-6hrs and ~$300+ in labor. Anyone under that price point is a really good deal...
