Just wondering what mods you would do first? Braking, Suspension? Powertrain?
Cheers

For me, priorities are reliability, stopping, and handling. Did the metal waterpump, new plugs & wires, replaced the muffler with the SVT exhaust and put in a K&N drop-in filter, and put on SVT rims. Now I've got bigger brakes waiting to go on the fronts, and I'm going to get the BAT suspension on as soon as I can front the $$$ for it. And before winter, I'm tossing the KDWs in favor of something more snow-friendly. I'll probably never mod the engine more than it is unless something in it punts, although I'd like a Level 10 tranny job and a Superchip.

I would upgrade as your 'wear' parts need replacing. For example, don't worry about the brakes until they need replacing...unless you are auto crossing regularly now. You will find that any upgrade will probably cost you less than the retail Ford price for the OEM part. You may want to do some bolt on performance pieces yourself (air intake, exhaust)....Finally, the handling aspects (lowering with new springs, struts and sway bar) can be done relatively inexpensively ....say $2,000 CDN ....
skeeter:, PM me if you need some local sources and prices for the stuff I've done to my car.

I say do regular maintenance work regularly and if the parts are upgradeable to higher performance parts than do it when peforming the maintenance work.. then do things as you can afford them and find them. I am in the middle of doing handling, performance, and aesthetics at the same time,, as well as 80,000 mile maintenance.

you probably dont' want to focus on going really fast right away. Basic performance stuff is ok..but superchargers or turbos shoudl wait until you've upgraded other things...such as brakes. What good is 300+hp if you can't stop it?
Right now i'm focusing on reliability things. Need brakes..so I'm upgrading to FSVT brakes. Tranny needs some new syncros, so when it goes in im getting a quaife and centerfornce clutch. Perhaps I'll add an oil cooler and/or accusump. Then I can start saving money for major performance/aesthetic stuff.

hhmm...for the least amount of money...I would go
DMD and then very good tires and very good brake pads...
That should place you around $900-$1000 and your will car
perform better over all.
