Youch,
no clue how you wasted the tires in a year! I put 16K on mine then switched to my 17's, back to my KDW's now and another 3K miles. They have held up well for me, not that I do much Canyon Carving. Treadwear is rated near 300 isn't it?
Cheap 17's are a tough find, that I know! Try the normal sources like Ebay, CEG Classifieds. Use searches like "Focus Wheels" "4x108" and you might find sumin decent.
For cheap good tires, you can go with Nitto 450's, Sumitomo HTRZII's. If your an SVTOA member discounttires.com will give you a good discount, as well as free shipping.

There is a killer deal on Yokohama AVS Intermediates at www.tirerack.com right now!!! Get'em before they sell out. $64 a piece for 235/40ZR17 $58 a piece for 205/55ZR16 (For SVT's) $47 a piece for 205/60ZR15 (for SE guys) (Looks like they ran out of the 215/45ZR17 size) If you're wonderin ...why so cheap?? It's because they are at a close-out price...Yokahoma doesn't make them anymore. They have been a long time favorite with Auto-xer's, and have awesome grip. I have had set, am running a set on my sister's car, and know several CEG'ers who have used these w/good results(Roger H, David Z) Good Luck, Bito

I think those Yoko's will wear really fast. Treadwear is a miserable 140-180. Why I did not buy them a few months ago.
Good for the price though!

Try Les Schwab, they might not have the brand name tires, but they last forever, especially if you pay the little extra $$ to have them syped (sp?). that $hit really works! I have had my tires for.....wait I dont remember, anyways, since I have had my 18's I have not had to buy any tires. And I havent rotated yet! Not bad for a torquey front wheel drive vehicle! Todd, No, I only have one girl now. I really cant consider her my money hunny cause she is my fiance. So you know the money is both of ours. Oh yeah, BTW I am engaged ............yeah I know I settled down, what the hell is my problem

Oh my god Nick, it sounded like you two were serious, but you're *that* serious??? You're not just trying to get me to post, are you? Well, let me be the first to say: Congrats!!! You're the first guy I know under 25 that's willing to do something that serious, and I'm happy for you. Anyway, not to stray too far from the subject of this topic, thanks to you guys, I now have an idea of where to go to get my mom new tires for her car (my brothers and I are chipping in for her birthday). Whoo-hoo!

Costco has all the good tire brands. Including Kirkland Tires! Bridgestone, Michelin, BF Goodrich........
They are OK for prices, very good when they offer the $60/off a set of 4 coupon.
