What would be the first brake mods for a contour gl Zetec 4Cyl? I would just like to know... I think about painting the brake shoe, but I want to do more to it.

I bought some Powerstop cross drilled rotors and heavy duty brake pads. I think it is well worth the investment. Much better highway and high speed stopping.

Performance Friction CF pads. Made a big improvment over the stock pads.

I would go with svt caliper brackets while your doing the entire thing. Just get some good quality rotors and pads and stay away from cross drilled rotors

Why do you say stay away from cross-drilled rotors? I have had mine since March with no problems. I raced on Gingerman (road track), been to Rt66 Raceway (1/4 mile), and have done some spirited driving (actually I do this quite often) with no warping or cracking of the rotors. What is the big deal with CD rotors?

the PFC pads are really good... they have a good feel, don't dust quite as much and can take loads of heat.

I liked mine when I had 'em. As for doing anything funky with the rotors... in street driving I don't reccomend slotting, grooving or drilling. a good set of rotors from EBC for example will do fine.

You can get a good set of Rotors and Mintex pads from BAT as well.

If you are looking for good OEM go with Autospecialty rotors and any of the following pad: Mintex, KVR, EBC!

If you want track like power go with the Baer or. my choice, TCE Willwood kit!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
