I dont know if all contours alternaters are behind the wheel well buti know the svts are, i was driving mine today and it was raining and i was forced to go through a few puddles, and when i went through them i thought my car was going to die, the battery light came on and the car almost stalled,does anyone know if theres anything i can do to keep it from getting wet

Your serpentine belt might have gotten wet and slipped. This would cause a loss in power. Was there a high-pitched screeching sound? You might want to check if the belt needs to be replaced.

The alternator, PS pump, and AC will each stall if the serp belt gets wet. Happened again to me yesterday while taking a corner. Scared the jeebus out of me (like always).

I'll swear my AC started blowing colder after changing the serpentine belt.....

You may want to check if the inner fender liner/splash shield is in place.
If you can see the crank pully from under the fender, than it is missing.
It needs to be in place to stop the water from splashing on the belt.

Driving through miniature lakes is something totally unavoidable.
