how many lbs do you guys torque your lug nuts? i am curious.

E1 SVT wheels - 80-90 ft. lbs. for me. I used to use 80 with the stock brakes, now use about 90 with the KVR vented discs.

As a point of reference the '97 service manual states 63 ft-lbs, this was before SVTs were invented of course.

I torque mine to 92 ft-lb's. I actually don't remember why I use that #. I am interested to see more replies.

They have a TSB saying you need something like 92ft-lbs for all year Contours. I used to get mine at 80 and the kept coming loose, so I torque them to 100 now.

hmm.. i have mine at 65... id better go tighten them


now officially a troll, i guess. used to have a black 96 SE, until it broke down one too many times. now I'm hunting for a motorycle.

Uh...no. 65-70 is all you need for the E0. But if you must...tighten to 100lbs...use the brakes hard for a weekend...feel them warp. Then upgrade!

Just nice and tight. I have never checked to see what torque they are. Never had any problems with this method.

80 ft-lbs all around. Haven't had any warped rotors yet (109,000 miles).
