I've been researching intakes and noticed most of you guys have gone with the Kurtz Kustomz kit. I was wondering if i could mount a K&N cone to a MAF adapter from SP Motorsports, which might be cheaper. If any of you have tried this i would appreciate some feedback. Thanks in advance.
Send a PM to DemonSVT. He has the part number to the biggest K&N filter you can put on.

A 3 1/2" MAF adaptor and a S & B 'bigmouth' type of filter has worked the best for me. I've tried the powerstack and the bigmouth, and the bigmouth design just flows better imo.
That's exactly what I have. Well, it's the MAF Adapter from a KKM kit with a K&N conical filter (RU-3530). I like it better than the KKM kit I had on there (a free to me, SVT adapter and non-SVT filter).

I also have K&N RU-3530 with KKM adapter. On the dyno it made about 2 HP more than KKM (powerstack) above 6K RPM, below that RPM = no difference.

Thanks for all the help guys. It looks like i'll go with this adapter: http://www.spmotorsports.com/contour_intakes_components.html and the RU-3530 filter. One thing bothers me though. There is a second air sensor that pokes through the air box. Once the air box is gone and the cone is there where does this sensor go?
That's the IAT sensor. You could either order the part from BAT, for like 3 bucks; make your own adapter; or cut a precise hole in the new filter, and plug it in there.
