Does any one know the location of the speed sensor on a 96 2.0 contour.

According to the Ford TSP (Technical Service Publication), it seems to depend if you have an automatic or manual transmission.

For a manual transmission, it says to remove the air cleaner assembly (aka air filter box), so it must be under there.

Not sure where the one for the automatic transmission is.

Hopefully, someone else will be able to help out.

For a manual trans, check the back of the engine, toward the firewall, about mid way between left and right, down low, on the transaxle. Hope this helps....
