Hi gents. I'd like a little more rubber between me and the road. Will I be OK with jumping up to 215/60/15 from 205/60/15? Thanks.

You could do it if you really wanted to, but I would not. You are increasing the possibility of rubbing, adding width to a wheel not really even made for a 205 width tire, and decreasing your snow traction.

If you want more rubber I'd go with 225 on a nice wide 16" wheel. Then use your 15" for winter.

or u can try 215/55, if this size is made. since u have 15's, i dont think 215/60 would be a problem. u have more room to play with than stock svt wheels

Find some 225/50/15s. I know the Yoko Avid H4 comes in that size.

215/60 too tall. Or pick up some used SVT rims (16") and go crazy.

Thanks, guys, for your advice. I had a feeling the "tire expert" at Costco didn't know what he was talking about. "If you want performance, jump up to 215." So much bad information out there -- it's truly scary. Looks like I'd better stick with a company such as Tire Rack.

Well, I will research all the options I've been given -- thanks again.
