Three possibly unrelated problems, but they started at the same time.

1. When braking or accelerating, there is a decently loud clunk. This only happens once, like if you apply the brakes, get a clunk, you won't get another one until you start accelerating. Kinda like something is shifting from the front to the back.
2. When applying the brakes, they make a nasty noise like plastic is rubbing on the wheel/rotor, and it is related to wheel revolution.
3. When I turn the wheel slightly at around 35mph or greater, there is also a revolution related grinding that you can feel in the steering wheel/floorboard and it gets worse the further you turn the wheel.

I'm thinking maybe a motor mount for the clunk, but it started the same time as the rest of the problems. any help would be appreciated.

Mike

Motor mounts, worn or broken suspension parts, loose wheels, wheel bearings....

In short, a lot of things could cause that.

Sounds like your ball joints have lost its lubrication. If you dont have a Haines repair book, I would suggest you go out and get one for $20 bucks. But, if you have received one problem without fixing it, other problems will eventually come out of no where.

Thanks for the response. Wheels are all tight, I checked the motor mounts and they are fine. I'll check the ball joints, but if not that I'm thinking maybe a suspension component. Thanks again.

Hey Mike,

That grinding you hear/feel in the steering wheel may be a problem that I had. My front Sway Bar is loose and I a noise from the front end that I feel in the steering wheel. Haven't fixed it yet, but if you do a search you'll find what you need on it. You can check it by seeing if there is any lateral movement in the bar. There shouldn't be.
