Dixie Ford attempted to fix the throttle rise situation for the 5th or 6th time. They failed, it is still happening, more so on warmer days, but not a definite trend. The tranny situation I got royally screwed on. The day I brought it in a Dixie Ford tech took the car out and noticed that there was difficulty in getting the car into and out of 1st & reverse. They called ESP and it took them 2 and days for them to come out and asses the car. Of course the tech who assesed my car was not in so a service advisor went out with him. They could not duplicate the situation. So the ESP guy walked away. After another FOUR DAYS had passed Dixie Ford calls ESP and finally gets an answer.....claim denied. Of course it was denied it took them 2 @#$#@$ days to show up. Why the hell did it take them another four days to give their verdict??? All along I am driving a rental. ESP covers 5 days worth. So guess who is on the hook for a total of 6 days worth of rental out of pocket!?!?!?!?!?. Ford's Cust Care Line says I should see if the dealer can do something for me. the dealer says have you called Ford. Classic Ford Cust Serv. After a lot of aggravation and contemplating Homicide.... Dixie is willing to pay for 5 days of rental. So I still had to pay for one day of rental and an $80 assesment fee. This of course is the fee that a dealer charges to asses whether the repair is a warranty repair or not. The kicker is that the dealer's own employee said it is a warranty repair... it was ESP who denied it because by the time they came around they could no replicate the issue. So the dealer says it is warranty and I still have to pay the fee....With all of this I was so pissed I was about to put the car up for sale.... but it is too much fun to drive.
I am extremely pi$$ed off at this point.

Come to think of it isn't this one of the "good" dealerships?

I'm not sure if you want to try this...
I was talking with some of my regular technicians today (I'm squeezing as much insignificant warranty work in while I can). I asked them about a problem like this. I was told that it could be the shift cables warming up because of the exhaust location. They have heard/seen the shift cables being warmed up by the heat dissipation from the exhaust on the Contours and Mystiques. I'm not sure if the routing remained the same on an SVT Contour.
One of them suggested you could drive down here to Waterloo and show them. They're an SVT dealer as well.

Now that the weather has cooled down, mine is acting better too. I think you may be on to something that it is related to ambient temperature.

God, not Parkway Ford. I'm hesistant to let these monkeys touch my car. The other day I took my '02 Explorer in for an oil change and tire rotation. When I got home, it was puking oil all over my driveway from a loose oil filter. Made a huge mess on my otherwise pristine driveway. To add insult to injury, they didn't even reset the tire pressures properly. The Explorer runs 30 front / 35 rear. What else could they possibly screwup on such a simple job. Sorry, had to vent! Add this to the fact that I factory ordered the truck from them and patiently waited 3 months for it, and when it finally arrived it had the wrong options! I then had to scramble to find one that was close enough from another dealer!

Hmm...I can sympathize with that feeling. I think it depends WHEN you go in. I've heard some of them don't really care. Those that do...well...they're usually on the better cars. Matters on the service advisor I think too PS> I heard Weiland is worse.
