I'm getting a rattle from the rear parcel shelf area after gotten it replaced by the Ford dealer with the revised version w/o the vent holes. The rattle seems to be caused by one or both culprits as listed below.

1) Shelf loose causing rattle. Cannot really find any looseness in it.

2) Interior C-pillar trim slightly loose causing rattle against frame. I suspect this as being cause#1 since the new shelf does not seem to fit as tight as the old one did.

Anybody else seen this? If so, what's the cure?

return to the dealer and complain.

it is likely because the technician responsible for the instalation of the rear deck left out a few screws or overtightened and stripped out inserts and did nothing about it.
