Are the front rotors on a 98 svt different size then the rotors on a 98 non svt contour?

This is off of the SP Motorsports web page:

http://www.spmotorsports.com/contourbrakes.html

Front Brakes:
1995 - 2000 Contour/Mystique: The 4- & 6-cylinder non-SVT cars are all equipped with 260mm x 24mm front rotors and standard size ATE calipers.

1998 - 5/1999 SVT: The early production SVT Contours are equipped with larger 280mm x 24mm front rotors and larger ATE calipers and pads*. This brake arrangement is similar to what some of the European 4wd Mondeos and Cosworth-powered Ford use.

* In our experience, approximately 1 out of 3 early production SVTs coming into the shop have the smaller, regular Contour calipers and pads. This is most likely due to these loaded calipers (with pads already installed) being grabbed by an assembly line worker not paying attention. Since they readily fit the earlier SVT, the mistake was not detected until it was time to change the pads. Click here to see how to determine which pads you have.

Rotors are bigger, same as every other SVT 278mm.
Calipers are different from all other Contique's!

E0 front calipers and pads are different from the rest. E1 SVT's and newer use the same front calipers and pad as all non SVT Contours.

The change was not in E1 but in '99!
All 98's have the different Capilers and pads if you read what the BAT Catalogue says!

He,having a 98, has the different calipers and pads!

Actually, the changeover occured somewhere in the middle of E1 production. Some have, some don't. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, either.

As we deal with these cars day in and day out, let me say that we saw the changeover starting to occur as early as December 1997. During this period, and into January 1998, I have personally seen E0's with E1 front suspension arms but E0 front brake calipers and pads, then by January and into February, when my SVT was produced, it had (has) the newer front suspension and front brake calipers and pads, same as for all non SVT Contours. The complete changeover for the E1 did not occur in 1999, but right around January to February 1998. See it to believe it, check our my SVT on our web site. There are some pics of the front brakes that you can view.
