I'm guessing your are probably using WinISD to come up with the numbers you are using, but there is a danger to using box modeling programs for a car. Transfer function can wreak havoc with those nice flat freq response curves, plus the golden ratio doesn't really apply to subwoofer enclosures, its very important for midrange apps.

YES, that is exactly what I want. I have a sealed box now.. what would ported sound like? I think 3 12's would fit across... hehe i'll make that work. I just need to know how to make that box. I'm thinking about JL subs, would it matter since they are aimed towards the front instead of the rear like mine are now?

Ported would be at least 2x as large and will have quite a bit more low bass output. SQ can be roughly equal to a sealed enclosure if built right, but they are not easy to tune correctly and it will take some experimentation to get right.

3 12's WILL fit without angling... I have a tri-Visonik box.. Two are facing forwards, and the center one is inside a seperate "box", facing backwards and ported.

Fits perfectly.. about 1 foot of space between box and trunk latch..
