Here's what I did to build my box. Go to Crutchfield or something and find the box that works. Get the dimensions and build it exactly to those specifications. Also, it doesn't have to be made of the same material. I made mine out of plywood. Works great. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

One more thing, think about maybe a double box along the back of your seats with two singles on the left and right sides, that might work out well. And actually call up Crutchfield and ask one of their sales representatives to tell you which boxes work and pick from there. That is your safest bet I would think. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Ok, so you want four JBL GT1081 10" subs in a vented box?

Here are the useful T/S specs for the JBL GT1081 10":
QTS = .4
VAS = 89.73 L
FS = 28.87 Hz

Those are so others can check me but here is what I got:
A volume of 13.713 ft^3.
F3 = 27.07 Hz
FB = 27.66 Hz

i'm planning on getting 3 12" subs, I want a semi custom box. I would like to make it myself, I saw some pictures of another tour that had the subs aimed towards the front of the car and when you folded down the seats they were mounted right behind it. That's the kind of setup I want to make, but i'm not sure how to do it... any ideas?

thanks
geoff

That's not lined or anything by the way. Here I'll give port type a try. Need someone who knows what they are talking about to check me though.

Useful stuff:
XMAX = 11.91 mm
FB = 27.66 Hz

So for a round port:
Minimum Round Port Diameter: 8.21 in.
Minimum Round Port Area: 52.94 in.

If you want square:
7.28 in. is for a side of a square diameter.

You need to tell us if you want round or square ports, how many ports you are going to have, and what diameter/size so I can calculate the vent length.

Geoff, maybe a box similar to mine with the third sub where one of my amps is (in the front)? Do you want sealed or ported? How much room are you willing to sacrifice? Any particular sub you had in mind? I don't think 3 12s would fit this way w/o being at an angle.

Next time just say you have one driver.

Ok, so you want a vented enclosure for a JBL GT1081 10" using a 3" diameter port.

The best possibly sounding enclosure you can make with those parameters would be a 11x30x18 in. (DxHxW) box with your single 3 in. diameter port having a 5 in. vent length.

Cheers...get building.
