Are those members who have long term use with NGK Iridium plugs #TR55ix happy with the result? I am a fan of NGK plugs and would prefer to stick with them if possible. Alex

I installed some when I switched my wires. I did notice
a "crisper" acceleration but then again, my mechanic said
the old stock ones were toast. I got a really good price
from Magnem in Burnaby. I have the super expensive NGK Premium laser welded double platinums (PTR5C-13)
not the 'mere' platinum ones though.

Well since initial testing of the Denso Iridiums on my SVT, I immediately noticed a big boost in throttle response and topend pull over Autolite Dbl. Plats, and though these plugs are by far the best plugs from a performance standpoint (I'll assume similar results with the NGK Iridiums) for a street vehicle, they don't seem to be the greatest for the longhaul. After inspecting both front and rear banks I noticed some excessive wear on the ground electrode after nearly 5000 miles of driving and since our vehciles ignition runs through the ground electrode also it's reasonable to conclude that a double platinum plug will be your best bet. Now if you do occasional racing on a closed track (street if you prefer) and would like that extra edge that the Iridiums provide, I'd say, usem as an alternate plug for those such occasions only. That of course would mean changing out the plugs and then putting back the Dbl Plats after. This is for the DieHard racer for sure. If you'd like to purchase a set of NGK Dbl. Plats you can contact me at Silverbulitt@msn.com for more info on Price, ect. These plugs, I highly reccomend over all other Platinum plugs for sure. The price is a bit steep, but there worth it.
