I'm selling my car tomorrow so I took my KKM off tonight and now my car will not idle. I disconnected the batery several times but this did not help. I unplugged the air flow sensor and this allowed the car to idle but as soon as I plugged it back in the car died. When I sart the car it hunts for an idle, jumps between about 100 and 600 rpm a few times and then dies. Is there some trick to getting the computer adjusted again with the stock intake in place. Also, I have no other engine mods (not even the moosing fix). Somebody please help.
Thanks
Dan

Check to make sure all your vaccumm hoses are connected, also the plastic tubing for emissions to the back of the engine.
Also make sure you reinstalled the IAT sensor correctly.
Hope that helps

how long did you disconnect your battery for.
I believe it is sopposed to be disconnected for at least 30 seconds.
check all the hoses that connect to the induction system
like jcboeckl said make sure all the sensors are pluged in correctly and completely. also try disconnecting them again and look at the pins and sockets to make sure they are clean and free of debris or corrosion.

I searched through the posts and I didn't find much help. I left the battery disconnected last night and again, this morning, no difference. The car was fine with the KKM in place. All I did was remove the KKM and put my stock airbox back on. All connections are fine and intact. The car does run fine with the MAF disconnected. So, this leads me to believe that running the KKM somehow damaged the MAF or disrupted the calibration. Any help or advice on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Dan This may be off the mark - but check your fresh air zip tube (big accordian tube between MAF and TB) at the little boot where the idle air tube connects. Not too uncommon for them to tear - and switching back from KKM to stock box will open up the tear more causing stalling. I had this when I put my box back in to be smog checked - had to run a couple days with alot of tape around the boot 'till I could get a new fresh air tube.

Check that your MAF is clean. No filter oil on any of the elements.
With the MAF disconnected, the PCM goes into Failure Mode operation and estimates air mass and intake air temp values. So for some reason your MAF is sending a wacky air mass value to the PCM. Just switching between two types of filters shouldn't cause this behavior.

Put your KKM back on!
98.5 SE Sport badgeless, MTX, KKM, SVT exhaust with resonator intact. 1985 Z51 Vette with many mods. Only used when the Tour appears to be outclassed.

Does it even try to idle or is it just staring up and dropping immediately to a stall?
