Don't know if anyone else has looked into this, but I was talking to tirerack.com yesterday about prices and shipping to Canada.

For a set of four KDW, (225-50-16), price is $525 and change including to-your-door shipping by UPS. That's about $850 CDN....a substantial saving over what we'd pay here in the true north, where the last retail price I was quoted (Frisby in Ottawa), was $1320 for a set. Just FYI.

I'm also considering the Dunlop SP Sport 8000; the Pirelli P7000 and the Continental ContiSport Contact. Any of you guys ever had these?

They're cheaper than the KDW, but all seem to be rated pretty well on the tirerack site.

That's an awesome price for KDWs. I haven't heard of anyone I know running Pirellis yet, but you should also check out www.tiretrends.com. They're in BC and have specials periodically.

I had a look at the tiretrends site, and I think there are still substantial savings to be had by going the US route.

Even taking into account the exchange rate and the shipping, the savings by going to tirerack look to be at least $100 per tire....sometimes more, depending on the tire...plus, the selection is considerably wider, e.g., tiretrends does not sell BF Goodrich.

Just some food for thought.
