Good work, Lance. I hope Harry works out as moderator. As long he takes his drugs, he'll probably be fine. laugh

Now...what gives with the bizarre threads/posts in here from our US brethren?

Harry - who's doing your paint? Campbell's?

Steener,

There has been a general concensus with the Montreal CEGers that the best body work around is performed at Fairview Ford Lincoln. Pascal and Jeff have just had a ton of work done in prep for Spring Zing and we're all extremely satisfied with the price and resulting quality. We deal with one particular guy there.

I'm only getting half of the job paid for by Ford. The black paint is a mess from the original factory job. Take a close look at your hood for spider cracks. You could be next.

BlacknBlue:

Was your paint still covered under warranty? The black paint on my SE's hood also looks like sh*t; I think the clearcoat is failing and cracking all over. Thinking of having it repainted, but my original warranty is long gone...

Not really under warranty. I was told that Ford is often willing to pay half IF the car is less than 4 years old and has fewer than 80,000km on it. In my case, I met the 4 year requirement, but have 109,000km on it. The dealer here in Montreal is very good to deal with to say the least! It won't be cheap, but I'll have a brand new car!

Even if you can't get the half price deal, I would recommend dealing with the guys I dealt with. Excellent quality and price!

Good luck!

Harry

Any idea what it would cost to get the hood painted on a black '98 Contour? And also how well the colour would match with the rest of the car (which is nearly 5 years old)?

Black '98.0 GL V6/MTX, tints, SVT airbox (sans fender boot), stock muffler replaced with spiral racing muffler, A6 side markers, Cougar 16" polished wheels w/ bald 205/50/16 Yoko A520's, Mobil 1 5W30, Castrol SATF/Ford FM tranny cocktail, 9005 high-beam bulbs all around, re-aimed stock foglights

New paint on the hood would probably be around $200-$300 here where I'm having mine done.
