We are having a discussion in school and we were wondering if it would be possible to turbocharge your car with a leafblower? If so what mph leafblower should i use? I mean if you think about it should work. What do you think?

Probably possible, but not worth it...

However mph has nothing to do with the info you need for picking the proper electric fan motor.

It is CFM flow. (It would need to flow atleast 260cfm for the Zetec to just break even at 6500rpm)

However in order to make an AC leaf blower run on 12VDC you would need a power inverter first.

I figure by the time you rigged everything up to try this experiment the added weight would easily negate the "possible" couple HP/TQ gains it would give you.

You could always try an E-Ram. It's compact, powerful and should make 1.5psi of boost on the Zetec.
Though for several hundred dollars it is about 3 times the cost outlay you were probably looking at.

The short answer - No.

Yes you can do it because some one I know did it to his ZX2 and it did what it was suppost to do but the leafblowers motor will only last so long.

Well if u made an addition to the intake like a y pipe and attached the leafblower to the extension wouldnt the engine get an extra boost since it is being suplamented with an additional 350 cfm? Just a question

No. In order to create boost it would have to "be the plug" on the end of the intake. Otherwise your "extra" airflow would just push back out the intake.
