I've been milling things over ever since I bought my '98.5 SVT. Things being whether to put on a supercharger or this new turbo kit that Chris Hightower has been talking about. I am familiar with s/c'ing and have run both paxton and vortech's on mustangs but that's almost totally different. I see the main flaw in the vortech design to be the lack of proper support for the "driveshaft" and the improper use of low-speed(rated up to 6500rpm) bearings where we clearly need something that will "reliably" turn up to 7-7500 rpm. Combine those two failures and the result is the s/c eats itself alive, seals first. I have spent countless hours searching for info on getting a turbo "kit" for my SVT Contour but have come up with very little until I heard of Chris Hightower and "the project" I really think a turbo is the way to go but only if it has an intercooler. I could probably hit the scrap yard and find a couple of new turbo's off new-wrecked vehicles but then I would be stuck with paying someone to bend all the tubing(probably my cousin and his exhaust pros shop) but then that's all fine and dandy but then comes a huge tuning nightmare. So I've decided to wait and hope something happens soon with C.H. and that whole thing. Sure I could have put a deposit down but I've had bad experiences w/that stuff before. I am just wondering when this will be available for us???????????????????
