Yup its me again! With yet another question that you probably won't want to answer!

I have come across a problem with my DIY turbo, the turbos oil feed. I just don't have a scooby (as in scooby doo)!

I had thought about using an oil cooler snadwich plate but have come to the conclusion that this would just feed the turbo with large quantities of hot oil.

Another way I've seen is by welding a hose connector onto the cam cover to return the oil from the turbo and a tap into the sump, would this work? Would the oil pump be sufficient to pump it up to the turbo?

Just wondering how you had done it!

Thanks 4 any help (again), come up to sunny Scotland next time you are in England and I'll buy you a beer!

Use an external cooler with a stat(air/oil) and use a sandwich plate for the cooler take of lines with a small bore 'T' take off, check 'Think Automotive' they have all the Mocal parts you need.Use as much 'solid 'tube as you can from the take off to the turbo with flex at the end.The small bore will not take all the engine oil press so it will be fine, loop the feed line so it retains a 'slug' of lube on shutdown without drainback, helps lube the t/c on starts, make sure the drain back is ABOVE the oil level and 'masked so it has a good return,a small light non return valve in the pressure feed can also help......'whats the best local brw in your area.. laugh

Too many to count in Scotland! Depends on whether you like ale, heavy, lager, or just good ole fashioned Beer!!!
Righto been thinking about what you said so I'll repeat it back and you can fill in the blanks!

Use a external oil cooler, (using oil thermostat to control when oil enters.) The Cooler is connected using a sandwich plate which goes before the oil filter.

In the take off line from the sandwich plate insert a t-peice (small bore ID (6-9mm?). This will become the feed for the turbo.

Ok with the loop, for lubing the turbo on startup like an accusump (very clever!).

I take it you mean by putting put the oil return above oil level that it needs to be above oil level in the sump so you don't have oil going up the return?

Not sure what 'masked' means?

And this "small light non return valve in the pressure feed" really confuses me!

Cheers for the help m8! It's very appreciated, better make it a six pack of beer now!

Actually its fast approaching a case!
