Personally I would choose the SVT cams over any other cam set. Real life or fictional/custom.
I've done countless tests and configs with different cam specs and SVT really nailed the profiles to a tee. The only thing that always shows up in my testing is that the exhaust cams duration could be raised ~5-6 degrees.
Personally I think that is because the stock 26mm valves are ridiculously small!
Change out the valve specs to match the 35mm/32mm 3L valves and the "optimum" cam specs are within +/- 2 degrees of the stock SVT cams.
With the ~10.8-11.2 compression 3L hybrid the cam specs are dead on perfect!
You lose far too much power curve below 5500rpm to lengthen the intake cam's duration. You may gain a handful of peak power (~5-8HP) from 6-8k rpm, but your powerband below 5500rpm suffers significantly...
BTW - those thinking about increasing the lift (grinding the journals, new cams, etc)
Increasing the lift 10-15% (possible piston knockers) produced a max of only 5 HP at the crank. All peak - 5500 & above.
Stock SVT cams & 3L valves for me thank you...
