I have a '98 svt contour that has just over 76,000 miles. I am looking at possibly converting to the 3.0L but what I don't know is what year the 3.0L must be and is it better to use the 3.0l heads or my svt heads/cams. What would be the "optimal" setup?? Any help would be appreciated.

also whats the best combo is purely subjective- what one likes another might not like. ect.

Ps the 3L heads have a better shaped combustion chamber and larger valves, but the 2.5 has more compression and the SVT has hotter cams.

99-00 IIRC you have to use 2.5L heads
01+ you can use the 3.0L heads.....
